Petite France District Wallpaper  is located in Strasbourg, the principal city of the Alsace region in eastern France.  Petite France District showcases the city’s famous sandstone Gothic Cathedral and its astronomical clock. Originally, the area was home to fishermen, tanners, and millers. A hospital was established in the 16th century to isolate sick people suffering with venereal diseases. The soldiers contracted the diseases during the Italian Wars. It was thought that this was a “French” illness. The name “Petite France” was given to the hospital, but now refers to the whole district.
